Historic Hayden Granary Inc. is located at 198 East Lincoln Ave in Hayden and has hosted community barn dances in the east warehouse since 2010. The summer of 2023 had a great line-up of 5 barn dances with the final one on Saturday, October 21st from 6:30-10pm. Donations greatly help improve the space - we've gone from port-a-potties to restrooms and a rickety stair to a sturdy entry. Can't make the dance? Donate online at https://pay.haydengranary.org/dancedonation to help support these unique community gatherings! Stay tuned for the 2024 line-up of barn dances and we'd love any volunteer assistance for these gatherings.

Historic Hayden Granary Inc. is a 501c3 non-profit with a mission “To preserve the historic Hayden Granary as a community gathering place in Northwest Colorado.” As one of the last remaining wooden bin elevators on the western slope of Colorado, the agricultural heritage of the facility demonstrates the importance of farming and ranching within the Yampa Valley.
Historic Hayden Granary Inc. was founded in 2019 to ensure the preservation and adaptation of the historic facility for the century ahead, yet the facility started operations in 1917 when Hayden, and surrounding area members of the local Farmer’s Union, joined together to form the Hayden Co-Operative Elevator Company. In August of 1917, a triangular strip of land on the north end of town was acquired, and construction of the grain elevator began. By the middle of December, the elevator was in full operation.
Throughout its existence, the Hayden Co-Operative Elevator, like many grain elevators, was largely dependent on cycles in farming and cyclical changes in weather and market considerations. With decreased wheat production in the Yampa Valley, grain operations entirely closed in 1988 and the facility re-opened in 1992 as Yampa Valley Feeds (a livestock feed and tack store). In 2013 food and community gathering became the focus for the Granary with the addition of Wild Goose Coffee and then in 2019 Embers Wood Fired Pizza, followed in 2023 by La Central Cafe and Alpenglow mead and winery. The Granary continues its journey as a thriving business district with the relocation of Yampa Valley Brewing Company to the Northwest corner of the property.
Patrick and Tammie Delaney (owners of the Hayden Granary since December 2008) joined forces with Paul and Chresta Brinkman in 2019 to ensure the facility would be revitalized for the century ahead. Recognizing that restoration and preservation of the immense facility is far beyond what a couple of passionate folks can do, Historic Hayden Granary Inc was formed as a 501(c)3 non-profit charitable organization intent on preserving the Granary as a gathering space and historic entity.
Wild Goose Coffee LLC is the coffeehouse located within the old scalehouse of the Granary and is owned by Patrick and Tammie and expertly run by Bonnie and Adam.
Hayden Granary LLC, owned by the Brinkman's and the Delaney's encompasses the entire granary complex and, (on the west side), the "Salt Shed Flats" apartments which are available for both short-term or long-term rental.
